AUDITORY SEIZURE
A young boy with cochlear implant complaint of tinnitus on the side of implant. Repeated ENT exam and implant verification revealed no abnormality.
Considering the theoretical possibility of focal ictal development , EEG was performed with disconnection of implant.
A rhythmic focal spike discharge was noticed during HV phase on the side of implant .
Single 200mg carbamazepine at night resolved the auditory seizure. Followup after 03 month, boy was asymptomatic and EEG was normal.
